Emmanuel Clase is a legend in the making; big home runs, Guardians snap 3 day losing streak in 5-4 win over Detroit

Shades of Denny McLain and Sandy Koufax are worn by Cleveland’s Emmanuel Clase, whose stats are cleaner than the floors at the Marriott. Now it's time for business. Clase warms up in the bullpen like a highly trained assassin. Something is different. You’ve never seen a closer like this.

Everytime this guy pitches I know we’ve won. It's incredible. No other closer yet in my lifetime has made winning this routine. It's robotic! He’s quite the pitcher, featuring a deadly 99-100mph cutter, 98-99mph fastball, upper 80s slider and sparingly used mid-to-upper 80s changeup.

It's pretty clear this guy can pitch the ball. With an ERA of 0.78 after the conclusion of Tuesday night’s game, an absolutely bonkers feat, and a WHIP of 0.647, there’s no sign of him slowing down. He’s already in the books as one of Cleveland’s best. Hall of Fame is certainly in question already. This is the clear 2024 AL Cy Young choice for me. A reliever hasn’t won the Cy Young award since Eric Gagne, who did so in 2003. Here's some footage of the God himself.

Jhonkensy Noel, Steven Kwan and Jose Ramirez all got their shares of home runs to score the victory. On Tuesday, the Guardians booked a 5-4 win over Detroit. While the lineup is constantly changing, with an abnormally cold Bryan Rocchio and Josh Naylor, the Guardians didn’t let up on the throttle. It was mostly a bullpen game, both sides throwing relievers each other in a heated duel. Wednesday’s game is the 3rd in a 4 game series with a 6:40PM first pitch, don’t miss it.
